It helps you in building a connection with people across the world and gives you the opportunity to better communicate with them. It can link countless users at any time and at any place. Moreover, it facilitates you to connect with those people whom you never met in real life and don’t even know about them.

  2. Information sharing and updates- Social media provides you lots of information and you can stay updated by being a part of social media. As well as you also get the opportunity to share information among the people with whom you are connected through social media.

  3. Business Opportunity- Social media also provide business opportunities to those who are willing to earn from the internet. It helps in marketing and advertisement of your product and organization. There are many people who are earning from social media just by providing services and by affiliate marketing. Social media platforms also work as e-commerce where you can buy or sell products.

  4. Entertainment- Social media provide you with different types of entertainment options where you can discover and engage with a wide range of content, entertainment videos, memes, games, and other things. You can look for a variety of content available in the social media platforms.

  5. Content Sharing- Social media encourages creativity and self-expression. Social media provides a platform to share your content with people across the world and also gives you the opportunity to collaborate, share your creativity, thoughts, expressions, and skills.



Cons of Social Media.



  1. Privacy concerns- Social media is becoming a concern of privacy because social media contains lots of information about its users. It should be always prioritized to not share every piece of information about yourself because it can bring you problems and tough situations. Although there are privacy settings available on social media platforms but they may not always be foolproof.

  2. Addiction- Nowadays social media is becoming an addiction for many users because they are designed to be addictive. It records all the scrolls, hits, and actions performed by the user to improve themselves but is not really good for the users. However, you can use social media as a platform for getting knowledge.

  3. Cyberbullying- Culprits can access your personal information from your social media accounts and can use it for bullying which will lead to emotional distress and psychological harm. Social media is becoming a ground for harassment, cyberbullying, scams, and online abuse.

  4. Impact on Mental Health- Overuse of social media platforms generates mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Excessive use of social media also generates a distorted self-image and comparison because social media often showcase carefully curated and idealized versions of people’s lives.

  5. Spread Misinformation- Social media is also used as a platform to spread misinformation because there are 4.9 billion people using social media globally and it will take no time to spread misinformation among people using social media. It is so because the number of mutual connections is very high and information passes from one user to another very quickly.
